So Friday night ended up being a lot of fun and we were quite pleased with the turnout. The large amount of time we put towards organizing and promoting the event paid off which was nice. In addition to the great tunes that were spun, it seamed like people were having a good time, and overall there was just a good vibe throughout the night. 4AD is a record label that a lot of people seam to feel very nostalgic about and I am glad that we were able to give people a night devoted primarily to support this label, and hear tunes that are not played all the time at clubs. Though we spun non-4AD stuff as well, the majority of what we spun was 4AD and the other stuff was similiar sounding music. This night was something that Ryan and I had talked about doing awhile ago, and I am happy that we finally were able to do it! Anyways many thank yous are in order. Thank you to everyone who showed up to make the night worth it. Thank you to the Stud for having us. Thank you to Dellaena and the folks at the Street team for all of their support/promotions and donations that we were able to use for giveaways. Thank you to Christie for doing the door (and happy birthday)! Thank you to Miz Margo and Merrick for spinning, in addition to all the promoting they did. And a big thanks to Ryan, in addition to being the wonderful boyfriend that he is, for being a great person to co-organize this event with.
Several people asked if we were going to do events of this nature in the future. Yes that is definitely something that I would like to do again. As Ryan had mentioned in his lj, one possible reason for the good turnout is due to the fact that it isn't something that happens all the time and we want to be careful not to overdue it. Still though, I would like to do another similiar event at some point as it was a lot of fun!
Anyways the links to follow are; a tracklisting of the 2 CD set that the DJs collaborated on and that we gave out that night, the setlists for the event and the link to my flcker account where I just uploaded photos.
